Another make I actually finished at the beginning of the year is ready for be blogged about finally. This is the Hello Sailor Top by The Fold Line. I got this pattern for free when I created an account with The Fold Line ages ago. It stayed on my to-do list for a while.
For this one, I used fabric from my local Abakhan store and it is a craft cotton. I even managed to do a little pattern matching, although I only had a small piece.
Unfortunately, I do not remember much about the construction as it was way too long since I finished it. However, I did follow my usual, finished any edges exposed on the inside on the overlocker and left those edge that I knew would be enclosed in bias facings or hems.
I do remember that adding the bias tie to the back neckline gave me a bit of trouble and I ended up doing my own thing to finish it.
I have been wearing this top throughout the summer . I particularly love the back detail.
I do intend to make a few more version and I already cut another in chambray, but its just waiting for me to get to it. Possibly next year, other projects have jumped the cue and Winter is coming 😉
[…] a project is my second Hello Sailor Top by The Fold Line (I blogged about my first one here ). I pretty much cut it at the same time I was making my shirt dress for the Sewing Together for […]
Lovely top. You inspired me to sew one of these myself.
Thank you! I am really glad that my post inspired you to make one for yourself. 😃
