Sewing Workshop Day

Recently was Gemma’ birthday and I thought it would be really be a lot of fun to spend the day with her and learn so new sewing skills, so I booked us on  a day workshop. As we both have been sewing for some time, I chose the ‘Essential Techniques for Shirts and Blouses’ offered at the Abakhan’s Liverpool store.IMG_0035Our tutor for the day was Celia Banks of Sew Fundamental ltd. IMG_0062 There were 6 of us (Janet, Sue, Pat, Ste, Gemma and me), perfect number I think as Celia could easily spend extra time with each of us if we needed extra help. The atmosphere was very relaxed and I was chuffed to see that among us was also a bloke. Now I can officially say I know a fella who is into sewing.   IMG_0054_MomentIMG_0049Below are a few pictures of Gemma and me from during the course.IMG_0059IMG_0053IMG_0064I loved this day! I learn a few tips and tricks from Celia on how to get a professional finish on shirt or blouses. The course was reasonably priced, but I did wish it were about 1 – 2 hours longer so that Celia can cover the blouses techniques as well. IMG_0066As always I love meeting people that share my passion and learning new things. We sort of decided to do this more often. I only wished there were more advanced courses in the North-West at reasonable prices.

  1. Looks so interesting, there’s no dressmaking courses near me at all 😦 great to see a bloke sewing too!!

    • It took me a while to find this one and it’s not as close as I would have liked but close enough to attend.
