I am working on a couple of projects at the minute.  Although  I am not a very big fan of making muslins I have actually made two so far.

One is the lovely Brasilia dress that Rachel from House of Pinheiro has released on Christmas day.  You  can download the dress free here  and here. (If you click on the picture you will be taken to Rachel’s post when she released the pattern)

My horizontal measurements are very close to Rachel’s so I wanted to give it  a try. I done my flat pattern changes( that I learnt while making a muslin with the Craftsy lesson Fast track fitting) I normally do. I took out  about  3cm between the waist and bust, then added 2 cm between waist and hip. I have also  reduced the waist by a few cm. Don’t remember now how much .

Just to make sure it fits all right, I decided to make a muslin. I won’t show you how it looks on me because I used a pretty light on and it is see through. I don’t want to advertise my undergarments on the internet. Hope you understand!

Once I tried my muslin, I decided to  reduce  the hem about 10 cm so it hits just above my knees. I also made a small adjustment to the back by taking it in 0.5 cm on the centre seam to stop the gaping. Now I am ready to go.

Below is the fabric I want to use to make it. I have not yet decided if I will line it or uses bias tape to encase the neck and armholes.  What do you suggest?

It is a stretch cotton, lace with cream backing (although it looks like white in the picture)! Hurray, I don’t that  to underline lace, it is all done for me. I got it when Abakan had a sale in January! At the time I was not sure what I will do with the fabric, but it was a bargain and I have been looking for this kind of fabric for some time. Well yes, I have been thinking of underlining lace for some time but could not muster the courage to actually do it. All  the cutting and tracing was not made for me!  As I am not sure to line or to not line, I have ordered some stretch lining from Minerva. By the time I receive the goodies I should have made a decision with your help.
